July 5 Worship

***There is a scheduled power outage from 8am to 2pm this Sunday in Vankleek Hill :S… so unfortunately this means the recording of the service may not be available until later Sunday afternoon, unless we have power by 11am to stream the service live. I will send an email notifying you when it is available***

Before you decide to join us for corporate worship in the coming weeks please please read the letter from the VKHBC leadership regarding our plans for gathering again beginning June 28th and make sure to confirm your intention to attend with David Shuh (david.shuh085@sympatico.ca) by the Thursday of that week. There is also a document with the guidelines to be read by you and one more document to be filled out by you and then provided to the ushers upon attending one of our worship services.
  • The plan moving forward (power outages aside) is to stream the whole service live at 11AM on YouTube. I have made some changes so that the video and especially the audio quality will be significantly improved from last Sunday as long as the internet (and power) cooperates! But the quality of music still may not be helpful for your worship in song at home. If you'd like to try to follow along from home you could view or print off the lyrics attached the weekly email. Otherwise the YouTube playlist is still available below for you to continue as you have the past few months and then you could simply join us online for the sermon which will take place a little later in the service closer to 11:20AM
  • For this week's Evening service @ 6pm we are going to meet outside in the yard behind the manse (30 Bertha St) where there is plenty of room for physical distance. Bring your own chair and water!

In addition to previous instructions provided on our website (here):

1. Read Scripture & Pray – Psalm 133 & 134
2. Sing  –  “Amazing Grace (My Chains are Gone)”  Click here for July 5-vkhbc YouTube playlist
3. Read more Scripture together – Deuteronomy 30:1-10

4. Pray together

5. Sing – “His Mercy is More”

6. Listen to the sermon together on our YouTube channel “Vankleek Hill Baptist Church.”

Sermon questions for kids:

1. What did the Scribes and Pharisees exemplify or represent to the Jewish people?
2. Rather than getting us to heaven itself, how does the Law of God help lead us to heaven?
3. What do we need to do that is different from the Scribes and Pharisees to enter heaven?

7. Sing a closing song – “Grace that is Greater than Our Sin”

May the Spirit of God lead each of us together as one, according to the eternal Word of Christ, to the glory of God the Father!

Yours in Christ,

Pastor Scott
