INSTRUCTIONS FOR WORSHIP TIME AT HOME
Depending on your circumstances and your families, you decide how much time would be appropriate and helpful to leading your families into worship through Scripture reading, prayer, and singing.
- Read Scripture & Pray - Psalm 108:1-5
Begin your time together reading Psalm 108:1-5 and a word of prayer
- Sing (1 or 2 songs)
Use whatever musical skills and instruments those in your home may possess to assist your SINGING, this option is preferable
Those who could use the musical help may benefit from using recordings I’ve suggested on this playlist to help keep you stay on key (click here).
The adds are distracting but the videos I’ve selected all (but the first) include lyrics making this a simple option that could be helpful to some. The lyrics to the first song “Praise to the Lord, the Almighty” can be googled or click here
Families with young kids might enjoy using some of the songs from the Getty’s ‘Family HymnSing’ instead.
Or choose select your own songs from your own resources
- Read more Scripture together - Psalm 112:1-1
Consider dividing verses among different kids to read if you’d like
Or for families with young kids only read verse 1 and ask them what they think it means and then help explain as needed… or only read verses 6-8, etc.
- Pray together
Please spend time in prayer for brothers and sisters in Christ around the world, our church, our community and the nations in the coming months for wisdom and for unique opportunities to witness to the hope and peace we have in Christ in these days!
Take this unique opportunity to pray for the spiritual needs of one another in your family as well.
The occurrence of any local or global calamity is usually SOME FORM or expression of God’s judgement and wrath being released upon the world meant to lead people (even entire nations) to examine their hearts and repent of ongoing sin in their life. Ask God to search your hearts and reveal what you need to repent of in your lives individually, as families, a church, a community, a nation, etc.
- 1 John 1:9-10 “9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.”Leola Meagher’s brother-in-law is very close to the end of life in hospital, so please pray for him and his family at this critical time (He is saved). Many people are mourning loved ones, unable to travel or hold funerals for them.
- Pray God would use the video sermons to speak to people outside of our church family and that the Spirit of God would lead them to repent and turn in faith to Christ for salvation.
- Sing (1 song?)
- Listen/Watch my sermon live @ 11am or anytime thereafter
Sermon questions for kids:
a. What is withholding mercy from someone a sign of in your own life?
b. How do we become pure in heart?
c. Why does the Christian go out of his way to establish true peace?
- Sing a closing song

Yours in Christ,
